Aims

Rosebank Drop-In aims to provide a relaxed and informal social venue where anyone who has experienced Mental Health problems may visit to gain support and build their self confidence. The drop-in will provide information about services, self-help groups and community facilities and will encourage individuals using the drop-in to establish new contacts within the community. There will also be assistance available to use a computer and photocopier for career searching purposes. No referral is necessary.

Confidentiality

There are no records kept about the people who use the drop-in However, individuals are asked to sign themselves in on each visit. This helps the centre to produce figures to show how many individuals use the facility which in turn may affect the funding. The staff and volunteers respect and observe a code of confidentiality toward people attending the drop- in, the only exception being in the event of a person being a danger to themselves or others.

What Can You Do?

Your participation at the drop-in is important. You may take your suggestions to the support worker who will raise issues on your behalf, use the suggestions book or preferably you would attend the meetings about the drop-in. Meetings will be informal get togethers to discuss any changes that may be required at the drop-in. You are not obliged to attend, however it is a good opportunity to air your views and ideas.

Creating Comfort

We all prefer to meet with others in a safe and trusting environment, therefore it is always appreciated when everyone respects each other and their personal possessions.

Rosebank Drop-in operates an anti-discrimination policy and therefore is open to all individuals.

Everyone within the drop-in is expected to refrain from comments or actions that may be seen as insulting to other members.

Inappropriate behaviour towards others may result in the person being asked to leave, and this also applies to anyone under the influence of alcohol and / or illegal drugs.

Complaints

There is a formal complaints system in operation, an explanation of this is on the noticeboard. Please ask the support worker for more information. Your suggestions are an important way of putting forward your views.

Management Committee

This consists of 12 people who have the right to vote on issues related to Rosebank Drop-in. The committee requires to have a balanced number of representatives which includes people who have experienced mental health difficulties personally and people who work in the area of mental health. Maybe you would like to join.
